What a Difference a Space Makes

My husband and I are have just finished our move from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom. In our previous space, I had used our bedroom as my studio and we slept on a trundle bed in our large living/dining room. We made it work, but once we discovered that the space was full of mold and that was the reason I had been sick for months, we knew we had to get out.

It took a while for us to come to the realization that we deserved a better, larger space. Initially we began our search looking for large 1 bedrooms (thankfully with no luck). We didn't think we could afford much more than we were currently paying, which meant that if we wanted a nice place it would probably be in a bad neighborhood. Or if it was in a good neighborhood, it was smaller that what we had before.

As if someone were looking out for us, things just began to fall into place. We realized that we needed something larger - and deserved it, too. A friend of mine had bought out her partner at her dance studio, so I asked if she was hiring, thinking I would teach a class or two and help out at the front desk. Instead I was hired to teach three days a week and was able to quit my valet job. My increase in income exceeds the additional amount we are paying in rent. It's just like it was meant to be.

I am so excited for my new space. A space that I no longer have to share with our clothes closets and dressers. I am excited that there is no mold in our home and I won't be sick all winter again. I am excited that this space makes me feel creative again. I can't wait to see what I come up with here!

More (and better) pictures to come soon!
