A lot has been happening around my studio. I pulled my grandparent's chair over and rearranged a few things. This chair means a lot to me. It was in the basement of my grandparents house for all 30 years of my life until a year-and-a-half ago when my Grandma passed away. My sister ended up with it's mate. It's funny to think of all of the things my grandparents have given me that have ultimately helped me with my business - this chair, my sewing table, the knowledge of pillow making...
I think about them every day that I work! Especially now with Christmas quickly approaching. They loved Christmas and would decorate the outside of their home with thousands of lights and figurines that my Grandpa had made. My favorite was always Rudolph! Although I miss them a lot, I know they would be proud of where I am now and all I've accomplished.
Have you had someone in your life that lead to your success, or taught you a skill that has now become a tradition in your home? If so, I'd love to hear about it!
I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying preparing for this wonderful time of year!

Welcome to my new studio space!
I always think that getting a glimpse into someone's workspace is a little like looking into their soul. I hope you enjoy this mini tour and look forward to more photos in the future!
My workspace has been in my home (ahem! apartment) since 2006. Recently I signed a lease for a studio space about five blocks from my house. The desk shown above is the only remaining part of my business that's still in my home.
In my new studio, I have two very large westward facing windows. Being on the fifth floor, the view seems never ending. I just love being there when the sun is setting. Each sunset is so unique, and I can't help taking pictures of them. The photo never does it justice.
With the westward windows I get a variety of light in my space and it has been interesting to play around with. Some days it's soft, and some days really harsh.
These last two shots are of me working. I wouldn't have a business without this trusty sewing machine. My husband bought it for me for my birthday in 2006. I can honestly say it was the best gift I've ever received! Thanks, Honey!
I hope you enjoyed the tour!
